Sunday Thoughts - Rejecting the Easy Life

Good Morning Friends,

I trust you are well and basking in any sunshine that's coming your way at the moment. I had an incredibly full weekend with all the things I love in my life. One of those things was a day trip cycling round an island on the west coast of Scotland which I will share photos of throughout today's letter.

Some of my sporadic journaling this week has led me to consider what we want out of life. As life changes and evolves, so do our priorities, needs and desires. As I now experience life vicariously through my son, it brings me joys through another lens. It makes me consider how a 5 year plan isn't what it used to be. I was never one to be too ambitious nor objective with my goals and now I'm gaining a whole new sense of the definition.

As time now has a feeling of rapid evaporation, I am ensuring everything I do is one that is full through challenge. I find nothing more impressive at the moment than seeing others do difficult things whilst giving off the aura of calmness. Living fully effortlessly if you will. We still experience the ups and downs, yet more intensely somewhat.

It's like that intensiveness of love when you're in it. The highs of the beginning, the fullness throughout and the heartbreak at the end. Yet the best lives are those lived fully right?

As I continue to write, type and talk I realise this project is simply an insight into one life lived. An experience shared that hopefully creates sentiment of encouragement for those reading or listening to pursue a life well lived.

And this doesn't come easy despite the illusion of simplicity. However you choose to live life, it is difficult. Yet, rejecting an easy existence is a fulfilling choice. When the options ahead of you seem clear, pick the more difficult one that will bring more pride of self. Not the one that is chronic or relentless. Not the one that is a cop out or a cheat code. The one that sprinkles joy in moments to you and provides the infinite pride and peace that you know you're doing the best thing for you.

I hope you enjoy that thought today and as always write to me if you feel the urge to.

Hopefully some more podcasts soon but just know that I am finding plenty of joy writing to you each week.

Best,

Lawrence

Good Morning Friends! I trust you're well. Today marks 5 years since I started this project, and in that regard, adds to the significance of today's letter. It all started with an old Mac, a headset, and a desire to share. This project has given me more than I could have imagined, and then some more. I never thought I'd connect with so many people around the world. Nor reach the depths of creativity I have. I'm saying this through pure joy, yet I'll never be able to put a price on the...

Good Morning Friends, I hope you're well. We're well into May now, and I'm truly basking in the greenness of the forest I see on the horizon each morning. I've been considering the relationship between time and meaningfulness this week, as I find spare time more fleeting yet moments more memorable. Time has become more of a commodity over recent years, yet the more you get is like money: there's no point in having so much if you don't do anything meaningful with it. We all think we want more...

Good Morning Friends, I trust you're well. To start, I'd love to ask, ' How do you live fully?' I'm leaving it open-ended as I try to expand my own awareness of what it means. I've found living presently with intention pre-child was a tool for being more fulfilled with life, yet post-child, you have no choice; you will live presently! Are there more levels? Does it just continue to evolve? Does it heighten the experience of simpler things? Does it allow you to be more ruthless when...
