Sunday Thoughts - Doubling Down on Who You Are

Good Morning Friends,

A true change in season is such a great thing to witness. I'm sitting here as the sun shines through the window but it's definitely not a summer sun, it's a sun lasering through the frosty air. It's also a reminder for what this time of year brings: a downshift towards colder months, a slight reset and shift in perspective and some reflection on the year just past.

As you can perhaps tell, I'm not the most driven individual. Very much more living for the wholesomeness than anything else. I truly love that we can bottle up a few months and categorise them as a moment in our lives. It gives meaning and significance to the things that we do. In fact, it provides us with the opportunity to give our lives meaning.

A good question here for you perhaps is 'How are you going to make the last few months of the year meaningful for you?'

Regardless of what stage of life you're at, everyone can find meaning for this time in their life. It's perhaps time for you to try something new or double down on something you've been getting frustrated with. Or a need to revisit previous elements that have brought joy and now there is a gap in your life from that.

Is it a chance to find more comfort in yourself? A space for acceptance and to build self-assurance? Thinking now that everything you've experienced and been through has actually led to you realising who you are and accepting that. I honestly love the idea of people completely accepting themselves for who they are. We're always tempted to be someone or something else. Every day, life will throw something at you to challenge that. But life will come and go pretty fast if we spend most of our waking hours doubting who we are.

This leads me to my next question - do you need to speed up or slow down?

Is it time to jump at opportunities or make more things happen for yourself? When we're stuck or lost, that feeling of despair is self-loathing but making things happen and going after things is like magic. Having fun in getting lost in the game of life.

Or is everything moving too fast? Do you need to stop and breathe? Routine and reflection are a different type of magic. One of peace.

Like most things in life, these work in tandem but not exclusively linear. Sometimes you need to slow down when in a rut, sometimes not. Sometimes you need to speed up and build momentum when you're already moving quickly. The main thing you need to attune to is your intuition. At the end of the day, you'll know what you need. I guess what I'm saying is it'll all be alright, even if you get things wrong at points.

I'll close there but hope you enjoyed those thoughts this morning. I'm off for a few days next week and going to explore a new place in Scotland with the gang so might share some nice updates next time.

Best,

Lawrence

Good Morning Friends! I trust you're well. Today marks 5 years since I started this project, and in that regard, adds to the significance of today's letter. It all started with an old Mac, a headset, and a desire to share. This project has given me more than I could have imagined, and then some more. I never thought I'd connect with so many people around the world. Nor reach the depths of creativity I have. I'm saying this through pure joy, yet I'll never be able to put a price on the...

Good Morning Friends, I hope you're well. We're well into May now, and I'm truly basking in the greenness of the forest I see on the horizon each morning. I've been considering the relationship between time and meaningfulness this week, as I find spare time more fleeting yet moments more memorable. Time has become more of a commodity over recent years, yet the more you get is like money: there's no point in having so much if you don't do anything meaningful with it. We all think we want more...

Good Morning Friends, I trust you're well. To start, I'd love to ask, ' How do you live fully?' I'm leaving it open-ended as I try to expand my own awareness of what it means. I've found living presently with intention pre-child was a tool for being more fulfilled with life, yet post-child, you have no choice; you will live presently! Are there more levels? Does it just continue to evolve? Does it heighten the experience of simpler things? Does it allow you to be more ruthless when...
